Burton Park: Once crossing the main bridge into New Masset
the first left takes you to the harbour viewing park. A memorial
park perched on the New Masset Village coastline resting among
homes and rental accommodations honoring Ruth Stewart Burton.
The neat clean park peers out over the marina and Hwy 16.
Watch the boats, the Bald Eagles and the Great
Blue Herons come and go while sitting on the lone wooden bench.
Watch the marine activity through some binoculars while standing
in the covered atrium on the banks of the harbour.
The Ruth Stewart Burton Park is
within walking distance to the main amenities available in Masset
Village and to the marinas. The park is a short walk to the museum,
coffee shops, restaurants and many of the accommodations.
How
to Get to Ruth Stewart Burton Park:
Drive north on Hwy 16 from Skidegate BC Ferry towards Tlell, Port
Clements and into the Village of New Masset. Cross the large wooden
bridge protecting the Delkatla Wildlife Sanctuary leading into
New Masset, then take an immediate left onto Delkatla Rd. Follow
the road to the end where it intersects with Harrison Ave. The
Ruth Stewart Burton Park is on the corner. |
