Tlell River Picnic Grounds: A destination to a destination to many people visiting this picnic park area. The forested picnic park situated on the Tlell River is also the location of the Pesuta Shipwreck trailhead and the southern trailhead to the East Beach Trail in the Naikoon Provincial Park on Graham Island.

The Tlell River picnic site is a forested park area with some sheltered picnic tables and pit toilets tucked away in the woods. Traveling north on Hwy 16 from Skidegate the park is located on your right just after the Tlell River Bridge. The parking lot area has an interpretive board outlining the various hikes and Naikoon Park.

The viewing area in the Tlell River park is best away from the picnic tables and down towards the hiking trail. Walking from the parking lot to the Tlell Bridge is worth a look as many times there are fisherman casting their lines jigging for trout.

From this park area on the Tlell River the Pesuta Shipwreck Trail winds itself through coastline forest and dense salal following the Tlell River all the way to a beached shipwreck and the miles of sand called East Beach. The Pesuta Trailhead is part of the longer 89 km East Beach Trail marked by the East Beach Trailhead sign.

How to Get to the Tlell River Picnic Grounds: Drive north for 41 kms on Hwy 16 from Skidegate BC Ferry Terminal on Graham Island to the region referred to as Tlell (south of Masset - 64 kms, south of Port Clements - 22 km). Tlell is centrally located on Graham Island of the Queen Charlotte Islands.

When approaching Tlell on Hwy 16 keep a sharp eye out for the large pink building on your left. From Hwy 16 you can see printed on the side of the pink/reddish building, "Clothing - Art - Cafe". This is a landmark you are in Tlell. Continue on Hwy 16 to the Tlell River Bridge. Just over the bridge on your right is the Provincial Park sign for Tlell River.
